Access to Basic Services

Why is it Important?

Despite real progress being made regarding access to drinking water and sanitation, thousands of millions of people still lack access to these basic services. At a global level, one in three people  do not have access to safe drinking water, two in five people lack basic handwashing facilities, and more than 673 million people still practice open defecation.

Although there are encouraging signs that energy use is becoming more sustainable and widely available, 13% of the world population does not have access to modern electricity services, 3 billion people rely on wood, coal, charcoal or animal waste for cooking and heating, causing air pollution in closed spaces, which results in 4,3 million deaths each year, with women and girls accounting for 6 out of every 10 of these.

Our Objective

To promote access to appropriate, equitable and sustainable  water, sanitation, hygiene and energy services for the african population, through the implementation of collaborative actions and multidisciplinary projects, with special attention to people in a vulnerable situation.
