Brief description of the project

This international and multidisciplinary action-research project seeks to provide English language learning support for refugees and other migrant communities in Madrid. It seeks to implement teacher training within this context and design specific didactic materials that tends to the needs and demands of students from migrant backgrounds. One of the activities is to advance service-learning methodology at UPM engaging students as instructors or as facilitators in technical support for the project.

Activities to be carried out by students

Students will be asked to participate in activities such as:

  • Taking part in teacher-training sessions.
  • Acting as English instructors to refugee and migrant communities in Madrid through local and regional NGOs.
  • Providing technical assistance to the implementation of the project.
