COOFOR

Support for Forest Development (COOFOR)

COOFOR (Support for forestry development) is a cooperation group of the School of Forestry Engineering and Natural Resources at the Technical University of Madrid, that is made up of 60 professors, researchers and collaborators who have directed projects on the following topics:

  • Forest and land management, tropical forestry, low-impact harvesting, and wood and non-wood forest products.
  • Hydrological-forest restoration.
  • Socioeconomic, such as the creation of nurseries, schools and training programs.
  • Agroforestry systems
  • Spatial planning and space management.
  • Species management and greenways.
  • Management of Natural Hazards and Climate Change: demolition by wind, hurricanes, forest fires, etc.
  • Waste management, environmental, technological and structural impact.
