#RETOMadrID at the CEPA in San Martín de la Vega

At @cepasanmartindelavega, many people are already learning how to use a computer FROM SCRATCH with #RETOMadrID. A basic course, lasting about eight hours, which each person can follow at their own pace, featuring step-by-step videos and exercises in a very educational and simple way.

If you would like us to bring this course to your center, association, residence, etc., for anyone over 18 who wants to learn from scratch, register the center here and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible.

#RETOMadrID is a project by @comunidadmadrid together with @somosupm for municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants in the Community of Madrid, and it is funded by the #NextGeneration #planrecuperaciónEU Funds.

You can already begin training in Redueña’s Townhall

Redueña’s townhall has alredy begun providing training in basic digital skills to their residents in a simply, easy to follow tailored methodology, thanks to @comunidadmadrid with the support of Universidad Politécnica and funded by #nextgenerationeu.

💻 What does your centre need to join #RETOMadrID and acquire a Digital Inclusion Point for the residents?

Eagerness to be an innovative village. Write us to pay you a visit and begin this journey.

🎧Is something needed in your centre/municipality?

If you already have available computer, we will facilitate you with tablets, headphones and USBs with the required software installed. If there are no computers, we can bring you laptops and mice. Besides that, WiFi is required in order to keep tablets updated and in the last modules of the course participants will learn how to surf the web.

How long does this course last?

Since this course needs to be completed on your own, each person can do it at their own pace, following centres’ organization/schedule. But the entirety of the course can be covered in just 7.5 hours.

🎯 Who can benefit from #RETOMadrID?

People above 18 years old may participate in these courses by @comunidadmadrid. The course is specifically designed for vulnerable groups, with a very simple language, slow and as much as they want, unlimited playbacks.

Ideal for old people without basic skills or with little but would like to strengthen what they know. Also, for people who are not proficient in Spanish  and want to integrate in society.

📧 Do you want your centre to join in?

Prádena del Rincón join up to strengthen digital training of their residents

In Prádena del Rincón, at a retirement home, a course is up and running to learn how to use a computer from scratch and today, residents have started using the computer.

Thanks to Gema, who is always keeping an eye on them in this little community in Madrid. Soon, they would have made a big step to learn something bigger; age doesn’t matter to start using the computer!

If you would like to bring this project of @comunidadmadrid and @somosupm funded by #NextGenerationEU#PlanDeRecuperación to your centre sign up here and we will get in touch as soon as possible.

RETOMadrID takes part in the 2024 Science and Innovation Week

Yesterday, the round-table “RETOMadrID: Innovation that connects and transforms rural lives” took place within the framework “Science and Innovation Week” by @comunidadmadrid at @etsimeupm.

The round table focused on explaining the digital literacy project in municipalities with fewer than 20,000 residents in the Community of Madrid and brought together important stakeholders for its development, including @comunidadmadrid team and @somosupm, responsible for the municipalities we are already working with as facilitators, as well as, needless to say, our course alumni.

It was an awesome meeting in which we heard participants’ voices expressing their interest in making dissappear the digital gap in the population, especially among vulnerable groups such as our older adults and immigrants with little or no access to technology. The closing ceremony featured the presence of @javi.carazo, General Director for Territorial Rebalance in the Community of Madrid.

Thanks to all the participants in the round table:

  • Ms. Eva Barrios Reyes (@eva.barrios.reyes), Head of the Strategic Coordination Division and coordinator of the RETOMadrID team at the Community of Madrid
  • Mr. Jesús Manuel Romero Martín, Mayor of Gascones
  • Ms. Yolanda Calles Martínez, Councillor for Culture, Employment, Health and Social Affairs, and First Deputy Mayor of @actualidadventurada
  • Ms. Susana Muñoz Hernández (@susanatedeco), Director of TEDECO and Principal Investigator of RETOMadrID

  • Mr. José Cercadillo, Librarian at @bibliotecavelilla in @aytovelilla
  • Ms. Julia Martín (@juliamartinjimenez), Manager at the Rural Open Centre in @horcajuelo_de_la_sierra
  • Ms. Irene Álvarez Martín, student who completed the RETOMadrID course in @horcajuelo_de_la_sierra

#RETOMADRID IN MADARCOS

Starting today, Judith is welcoming residents of Madarcos at Espacio Cuídame, on the street called El Pozo, 7. Anyone who is interested in learning how to use a computer from scratch may join in. We cover most basic concepts, such as turning a PC on and off, using a mouse, understanding what a Desktop is, opening folders, creating files, navigating the system and even booking a doctor’s appointment.

Even though, it may seem like basic knowledge to us, for many circumstances it is not accessible to everyone. Through our project free and funded by #NextGenerationEU all this information is available at your fingertips in just 8 hours.

If you would like to bring this project by @comunidadmadrid and @somosupm funded by, #NextGenerationEU#PlanDeRecuperación, to your centre, sign up here and we will get in touch as soon as possible.

Which centres can take in RETOMadrID’s project?

Inside of our network, public or private centres, NGOs, associations, etc. are welcome. Every centre that a Digital Inclusion Point could be installed and could aim our target group (those people who are willing to learn the computer from scratch and the basics needs to surf the web) may participate in this programme.

Which requirements are needed to carry out this project in your centre?

We are flexible in different situations and places, but the only thing we ask for is a place to keep the required hardware for the training and a person of the project in charge of the participants to help with the sign-up process, the management of the documentation and the communication with our cooperation team. Morever, even if, there is already a centre participating at one municipality of fewer than 20,000 inhabitants, our local facilitator who sets up Digital Inclusion Points, can facilate this project at another centre of the same municipality, to extend our reach to people willing to participate.

Join in this project of @comunidadmadrid and @somosupm funded by #NextGenerationEU#PlanDeRecuperación. Contact us filling this form.
