On 18 and 19 March, the Polytechnic University of Madrid held ‘UPM Investiga’ at Matadero Madrid, its first comprehensive research fair: an event designed to bring research closer to society and highlight innovation as a driving force for economic and social development.
A forum bringing together universities, public institutions, businesses and the public, where it became clear that research not only generates knowledge but also drives solutions that have a real impact.
In this context, RETOMadrID’s involvement has highlighted how research can be translated into practical solutions that benefit people.
Through TechPeopleCare, a methodology developed by TEDECO-UPM, we put years of research into digital literacy into practice, enabling anyone to learn from scratch, at their own pace and without the need for a teacher.
This initiative has been rolled out in the Community of Madrid thanks to institutional support and funding from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – NextGenerationEU, under Component 19, Investment 1.
RETOMadrID is, therefore, an example of how knowledge generated by universities, combined with support from public authorities, translates into real opportunities to move towards a more inclusive society.
