Raul Riesco and Víctor Villagrá, winners of the price to best article accepted in JCR journals of the chair “INGENIERO GENERAL D. ANTONIO REMÓN Y ZARCO DEL VALLE”

The chair “INGENIERO GENERAL D. ANTONIO REMÓN Y ZARCO DEL VALLE”, between UPM and CESEDEN, has announced the prices to the best technology, product or service developed in the UPM with themes related to Defence and Security.

With these prizes, the UPM and CESEDEN intend to highlight the activity carried out by the teaching and research staff (PDI) and students of the UPM, both from the academic and professional spheres, in the field of defence and security, and thereby promote a closer relationship between the UPM and the Armed Forces, which is the ultimate objective of the chair.

The participants in this 4th edition of the call for Prizes must have developed their research work (scientific publications or doctoral theses) or academic work (final master’s or degree work) in any of the UPM’s schools, faculties or research centres during the academic year 2018-2019 (October 2018 to September 2019).

The theme of the work submitted to the call must be aimed at improving the technology used in the development of weapons or surveillance systems, communications, new materials, cybersecurity, electronic systems or any other disciplines useful for improving individual and collective defence and security.

The PhD Student Raul Riesco and his PhD director, Víctor A. Villagrá, have been awarded the price to the best article accepted in JCR journals, book or book chapter signed by the proposer published in the academic year 2018-2019 related to a research project on issues related to security and defence, with the paper “Leveraging cyber threat intelligence for a dynamic risk framework”, published in the “International Journal of Information Security”.
