My current and future PLE

The PowerPoint below outlines my current and envisioned Personal Learning Environment (PLE).
The slides focus on five key aspects:
1. Knowledge and Research Building: Tools and resources for enhancing knowledge and conducting research.
2. Storage and Sharing Purpose: Platforms used for storing and sharing information.
3. Document Organizing, Design, and Editing: Tools for managing, designing, and editing documents.
4. Communication and Collaboration: Platforms facilitating communication and teamwork.
5. Skill Development and Tutorials: Resources used for acquiring new skills and learning through tutorials.
The presentation compares the current PLE with the aspirations for a more advanced and efficient future PLE setup.

My Reflection on “U Week”

The ‘U week’ was a substantial experience for me giving me motivational sense of ‘it is possible’. It is known that the issue of climate change is in everyone’s mind. But the problem is most people don’t realize that the solution is also with them too; rather, expecting somebody elsewhere, either the government or an impact-full organizations to mitigate it. The 3-sessions of ‘week’ inspire me, and I got an experience that as an individual I have a responsibility to play a valuable-print to mitigate climate change and create a future with a sustainable environment. It gives me an insight into the fact that we can get a huge positive change toward these concerning issues only if the change starts from the ordinary person or individuals.

So, I understand we as an individual should be an “Ambassador” for the environment, in our day-to-day life as well as in our professional works and experiences. For that matter, I want to do something important in accordance with my profession. So,10 years from now I want to be an expert in designing projects for waste management and recycling cooperating with the manufacturing industries.

Personal reflection on my professional future:

After watching the documentary, I really felt a renewed sense of purpose regarding my professional path in material science and circular economy. Seeing the profound effects of resource depletion and waste accumulation underscored the importance of sustainable practices in industries like construction and manufacturing, areas directly connected to my studies.

As I work toward my MSc in Advanced Material Science, Innovation, and Recycling, I am more determined than ever to focus on developing solutions that promote a circular economy, reduce environmental impact, and make sustainable practices more accessible to industries worldwide.

Reflecting on my future career, I see myself actively working on projects that bridge the gap between sustainable material innovation and practical industry applications. My background in chemical engineering and current focus on Materials engineering and circularity metrics have equipped me with a strong foundation to pursue impactful work in sustainability.

I hope to contribute to a future where industries are increasingly reliant on renewable energy, less wasteful in resource consumption, and proactive in recycling and recovery. So in general I will work on sustainable materials innovation and project designs for recycling of wastes that can be applied to the manufacturing industries.

Self introduction: Habtamu Mnichl Yehuale

Hello dears, I am Habtamu Mnichl; from Ethiopia. I am an experienced chemical engineer; with a professional experience of 3 years as senior laboratory assistant in the institute where I pursue my degree.

Since then, I was so interested towards material science and polymer engineering; which inspires me  and decided to go further. By 2023 I started studying my M.Sc. degree in material science in Miskolc University, Hungary. During my studies I got solid foundations regarding materials, polymers, waste management and recycling. I was eager to integrate my knowledge of material science with circular economy, so now I am here in poly technical university of Madrid; studying my double degree in circular economy.

I am interested on recycling of materials specially polymer materials and formulations of polymer blends. So for the future I want to join research institutions concerning about researches of  polymers, composites and materials recycling.
