MOOCs

MOOC 1 : Introduction to Personal Brand.

It was a topic that I didn’t have on my mind, to be honest as it was a new idea to me. After finishing though the course I realize that it is a high advantage for our professional life to synchronize our name with a personal brand that we have to take care of, promote and update all the time. I managed to think about my personal board of directors, and my mission statement that I am sure that will change during my professional life, and find the correct social media to promote it. Being aware of how our image is reflected online, helps me a lot with my Digital Identity plan as it is important to be focusing on our goals and group targets that we want for our professional future.

MOOC 2: Circular economy

A topic that for sure, we all knew before as it the main idea of our Master. Nevertheless, it is always good to revise , rethinking and reorganise ideas to our heads. Butterfly diagram was the most important takeaway along with the Inertia principle as they taught me that we have to be careful with the recycling as it is not always the best option, we have to understand the correct order of the actions that need to be done as maintenance, reuse/redistribute, refurbish/remanufacture and then recycle.

I hope you will find those two MOOCs as important as I did.

Digital Identity by Dimitris Pantelakis

hello everybody,

Here is represented my DI. In the beginning, it was a little bit difficult to understand the goal of this exercise. In the end, after figuring it out, I understood that is a handy tool in order to organize your digital activity to achieve your professional goal.

PLE_Dimitris_Pantelakis

Hello everyone,

This is my Personal Learning Environment. The first is my current one with all the applications and websites that I use almost every day. I want to emphasise two of those that made my life easier. The first one is Zotero that keep me organised during the writting of reports and on my bachelor thesis and secondly, is the connected papers which gives the opportunity to find, organise and analyse papers in the best possible way (highly recommended).

On my future PLE, I want to indulge more on platforms like. SimaPro and LCA in order to obtain more practical knowledge but also python as it seems like a basic programming language that a lot of companies ask for.

My professional future

From the beginning of my studies, I was always lost as to what should I do with my professional life and I still don’t know what the best choice for me is. Even though that is a little bit difficult to choose now, this master degree based on circular economy helped me to select the sector that I want to work on.

The energy and the integration of the circular economy in this sector had kept my attention for the last year. My internship will be at a natural gas company and it will help me get more involved with the energy demand of Spain and its circular economy.

In the future, I want first of all to complete my master degree and be involved more in European energy topics and try to be part of the European commission organization as an advisor on political parties.

Introduction to Dimitris

Hello everybody interested in me!

My name is Dimitris and I am from Athens, Greece. I started my studies in nursing (I know a little bit weird) but after one year I decided to quit and follow my passion for Chemistry. After 4,5 years, I managed to get my diploma and I already knew what I wanted to do after, Studying Abroad, an idea coming from my Erasmus experience in France.

I got accepted into the AMIR master (EIT label) at NOVA University of Lisbon and now I am following my second year at UPM in Madrid which is about Circular Economy. During those years, I got more involved with EU legislations and sustainable goals where I obtained awareness and a little bit of anxiety about the future of us and of the world.

My professional goal after finishing the master is to get more involved with the green energy transition in Europe by working in a company that has as first priority the prosperity of the European community.
