Here is the first version of my PLE. I decided to separate in 4 main sections: Communication, Management, Learning, Creation. Having very different uses in these categories I added subsections for better readability.

In terms of communication, I think everything is quite common and well known, messenger apps such as whatsapp for unformal communication, webmail for formal ones and usual videoconference tools like zoom.

In my learning experience, I realize I need to develop more tools as I mainly rely on Google to provide me information sources although I tend to use Google Scholar more and more. In addition to the specific school websites and moodle, I also learn spontaneously information on other means such as youtube, linkedin, the different Eit Web Pages or the EU Raw Material Information System that I consult often about different raw material, this subcategory is half way in the Creation section I called it inspiration.

When it comes to creation I think the tools I used are quite common and probably offer much more capacities than the ones I use (i.e. Word, PPT, Canva,…). For the ones that don’t know it, I use the LaTeX format on Overleaf (it’s a s a high-quality typesetting system) for most my written report and Canva for slide shows or video editing for a better visual.

Finally, I classified apps in a management category, it is mostly the specific software I use (Matlab, Excel, OpenLCA) along with the organisation and storage apps.

After learning about new applications sites and software from my peers I’ve updated my PLE.

Communication: I was quite happy with the various means of communication I use maybe I should simply rationalize them.

Management: Two apps can be added to my management list: dropbox as I realize I will need extra reliable storage space online and Gannt Chart (project scheduling) that I knew before but too rarely use in projects.

Learning: As I needed more sources for my research, I will start using Research Gate to diversify the information I find, Refworks and Zotero to manage my sources as I relied on LaTeX to do it before.

Creation: on the creative side of things I started using Pocket to increase and save the online content I read as source of inspiration and research and Looka to generate logos.
