The project “Matemáticas en Danza”, coordinated by Mariló López, receives the 1st prize “Ciencia en Acción”.
After a large number of entries for the award, the jury of the Prize ‘Ciencia en Acción‘ 2023 has decided to honor Mariló López González, Sagrario Lantarón Sánchez, Sandra Carnero López, Javier Rodrigo Hitos and Yolanda López Cota for the quality and originality of their work entitled “Matemáticas en Danza“. This project has used dance choreographies as an artistic means of expression of mathematical concepts such as geometric transformations and functions.
The work has received the highest recognition in the category of Scientific Dissemination Projects. The jury was composed of Daniel Torregrosa, Alba García Ruiz, Araceli García, Benjamín Montesinos, Esther Cascarosa, Jordi Vilà, Jorge Melendo, Patricio Gómez Lesarri, and Raúl Estévez Povedano.
This activity has been very well-received by the public and has successfully demonstrated the relationship between mathematics and art in a didactic and entertaining manner. We want to congratulate Mariló’s team for this great award.
