During three weeks of July (July 1-21) UPM and the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) have joined their innovation and entrepreneurship programs, corresponding respectively to the courses “Innovation in (mega) cities” of the Master of Leadership of the UPM (financed by the UPM) and the “BIT-Santander Summer School on Innovation and Entrepreneurship” (financed by the Banco de Santander).
The course has been developed in Beijing and Shanghai, where it has also been hosted and sponsored by the Sino-Spanish Campus of Tongji University in which the UPM participates. In total, 50 students have benefited from the program (25 from BIT and universities sponsored by Banco de Santander, 15 from UPM and 10 from Tongji). During these three weeks and under the academic direction of the UPM and BIT, the students have followed a program based on the “lean entrepreneurship” methodology through which the participating students have developed innovative projects in mixed teams with practical application in the improvement of the quality of life of the citizens of the (mega) cities of the future.
