Erasmus+ Trafsaf Project

Prof. Manuel Alvarez-Campana participated in the 4th meeting of the Erasmus + TrafSaf Project, held at ETSIT-UPM on September 24 and 25. The TrafSaf project aims to improve traffic safety in the countries of the Western Balkans through innovation and curriculum development of undergraduate and master’s studies.

During the meeting, several professors and researchers from UPM explained their research and education activities in the field of Traffic Safety. Professor Alvarez-Campana gave a talk entitled “Smart CEI Moncloa: an IoT platform for urban mobility”. He explained the main features of the platform and its capabilities to monitor traffic and people flows on the Campus. From an educational point of view, he emphasized the contribution of a number of UPM undergraduate and master’s students in the development and deployment of the platform.
