New Horizons

Partnerships for circularity-driven sustainability research and innovation

| Date: April 17-19, 2024
| Place: İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi (ITU)
| Conduct: In person
| Participation: Upon invitation only, from mostly EELISA member universities, and some non-EELISA foreign and local institutions including universities, public authorities, private sector, and NGOs

As part of the EELISA Connect workshops supported by EELISA InnoCORE and organized by the Circular EELISA Community, New Horizons seeks to promote research and innovation in the field of circular economy. It brings together researchers, academics, public authorities, civil society organizations, and business representatives to explore innovative, inclusive and circular solutions through research collaborations.
The first aim is to create an environment dedicated to research, innovation, and inclusion in the circular economy, from which strategic approaches emerge to advance and fortify the research and innovation vision of EELISA. This initiative encompasses activities such as generating ideas and proposals for research and education projects, identifying relevant funding opportunities, imparting research methodologies, and ultimately, fostering a culture of innovation. Parallel to the first aim, the second aim is to follow up on the ongoing joint project proposal collaborations from the Circular EELISA Community’s Circular Models workshop also supported by EELISA InnoCORE and coordinated by Prof. Justo Garcia Navarro at UPM in Madrid in July 2023.

Interested professors and researchers must confirm their availability and desire to participate, as well as send their contact details to the workshop coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Imge Akcakaya Waite at imgeawaite@itu.edu.tr.
