The first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) was taught by the University of Virginia which focused on personal branding in its entirety. The course was eye-opening and informative, and it taught me a lot about creating my own digital identity. The material covered in class was useful for establishing credibility on social media platforms like Twitter. It laid out the requirements to develop a personal brand and proved that it is possible.
An essential notion for successfully navigating different social media platforms, the 80/20 rule was presented to me in the training. Eighty percent of results are attributable to twenty percent of causes, according to this rule, which is also known as the Pareto Principle. When used to social media, it suggests that only a small percentage of one’s material or efforts generate a substantial amount of engagement.
Taking the course’s personality test was a really eye-opening experience for me. I learnt a lot about my character attributes and how they impact my online interactions from this test.
Additionally, the training shed light on digital privacy, a subject that is becoming more vital in our linked society. Protecting one’s identity and one’s privacy when communicating with others online was a major theme. My online persona and educational setting were both greatly improved by the information and training I received in this class. A more powerful and genuine online persona emerged as a result of my efforts to hone my online presence.
