Galal Galal – MOOCs

Introduction to Personal Branding

University of virgina

Personal branding is the virtual technique of grasping public attention. An individual intends to prove that they are credible in their field. In this course, I have learned how significant it is to know yourself before creating your personal brand. I learned how to be authentic and express your core values.

The Myers-Briggs Test was also very interesting:

“The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator is an introspective self-report questionnaire indicating differing psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. The test attempts to assign four categories: introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, judging or perceiving.”

“The more you know,
the more
you know
you don’t know.”

During this course I had to develop my Mission Statement which is:

Another topic was Reputation Management:
– We use search engines to know about people or other entities all the time.
– We want to see the reviews of restaurants, doctors, teachers and products, etc.

And that is why Reputation Management is important, and the course showed how to monitor it. I also learned about a trick on google that let’s you know if someone searched your name or email or any data you add. And it also alerts you when it happens.

Finally, Digital Privacy:
Barker pointed how we lack privacy on the internet and that you should take care of every tweet, post, publication, etc and put in mind that your “worst enemy” can see it. She also stated than when you agree to use free wi-fi you give consent to the provider to lurk into your internet activity and personal data.

Circular Economy: An Introduction

Delft University of Technology

The MOOC of circular economy made me realise that I can be: an industrial ecologist, an economist, a designer, or an entrepreneur. It was incredibly interesting to understand the potential of such an economy. After this MOOC, I can say that I am way more confident about choosing this field.

I feel very motivated and I already had ideas waiting for execution, so they can come to reality. The MOOC gave me many insights on how to relate all of my ideas together, and precisely where to start. It was very enlightening and I learned A LOT!!
