Madrid will become the global meeting point for solar mobility innovation as it hosts PVinMotion 2026 Conference, the world’s first and leading scientific conference dedicated exclusively to photovoltaics in mobility. The event will take place from October 28 to 30, 2026, at the Instituto de Energía Solar of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
PVinMotion is recognized as the premier forum where experts from the photovoltaic, automotive, mobility, materials and electronics sectors converge to explore the latest advancements in mobile photovoltaic technologies. The event brings together researchers, module and material manufacturers, technology suppliers, designers, and financial and business professionals to accelerate progress toward solar‑powered transportation.
This upcoming edition continues the trajectory of previous PVinMotion conferences, evolving from its first online edition in 2021 to international gatherings in the Netherlands (2023), Switzerland (2024) and Japan (2025). The 2026 conference in Madrid marks the fifth edition of this growing global platform.
Abstract submission will open on April 13, 2026, and remain open until May 15, 2026, inviting contributions from research teams and industry experts worldwide. The scientific committee includes internationally recognized figures in photovoltaics and vehicle‑integrated PV (VIPV).
PVinMotion 2026 will offer keynote presentations, scientific sessions, industry showcases and networking activities focused on the rapidly growing field of vehicle‑integrated photovoltaics, a technology area gaining global momentum as solar‑assisted electric mobility becomes increasingly viable. The event is listed as an international conference with a full PV focus, attracting participants from across the world.
IES-UPM invites the scientific and industrial community to participate in this unique forum and contribute to the accelerating transition toward solar‑powered transportation.
