Oleaje, developed by UPM students, won the Samsung National AI Prize. The tool uses LSTM models to forecast coastal wave conditions up to 60 hours ahead to support early warnings that protect infrastructure and lives. Dr. Nerea Portillo Juan co-developed and shaped the project from her PhD work in maritime climate.
