Gabriela Ionescu has a PhD degree in Power Engineering from Politehnica University of Bucharest and in Environmental Engineering from University of Trento. She holds a lecturer position at Faculty of Power Engineering, Politehnica University of Bucharest and she conducted different teaching courses/seminars across Europe and Africa. Her scientific activity has been developed within 15 national and international research projects/grants and collaboration (Europe and USA) as project coordinator, co-principal investigator, junior researcher, and team member. Her main fields of research are: integrated waste management systems within the circular economy context, source separation of MSW, material and energy recovery from waste, bioenergy and energy carries, sustainability and environmental (health) impact assessment
