Liana Ioana Vuta, Ph.D, graduated in 1998 from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB), Faculty of Energy Engineering. Currently she is Associate Professor at Department of Hydraulic, Hydraulics Machinery and Environmental Engineering of UPB. Her area of expertise includes hydropower plants, water resources management, hydrology, water quality, groundwater, as well as numerical modelling in water resources engineering. She leads graduation theses and dissertations in the aforementioned areas and is member of graduation and dissertation commissions. She has worked as researcher or principal investigator in over 10 R&D and educational projects (both at national and EU level). She is author of more than 35 scientific papers and books on hydropower, water resources management and water quality. Vuta’s present focus is on sustainable development of hydropower resources, the role of reservoirs in water resources management and environmental impacts from hydropower projects.
