Blanca Castells Somoza is an Assistant Professor at the UPM Higher Technical School of Mining and Energy Engineering, where she teaches Chemistry, Thermodynamics, and Combustion and Fuel Technology. His research focuses on the thermal behavior of biofuels along with their ignition and explosion severity properties. All of this is to have safe handling, processing, storage, and transportation of biofuels. She also collaborates with the Official Madariaga Laboratory, a certified laboratory specializing in industrial safety for explosive atmospheres. He has also co-founded a start-up for the production of biogas.
