Antonia Pacios Alvarez is Ph.D. in Architecture, linked to the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) since 1995, and is currently working at the School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering. Previously, she had the position as an associated researcher at the Eduardo Torroja Institute for Construction Sciences (IETcc), belonging to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Her teaching and research lines had been the Construction Engineering knowledge area.Her most active research lines are: high-performance concretes, especially its components, properties characterization, high-temperature evaluation and manufacturing processes; glazing safety, human impact characterization, normalization; and intelligent maintenance strategies. She is a member of the UPM research group “Projects and Quality” and a participant in the Structural Materials Research Center (CIME).She has participated in more than 40 R&D projects financed by public and private entities (national and international). Author of 80 publications (articles in referenced journals and magazines) and tutor of 30 master theses, most of which have linked to the work of ongoing research projects.
