The first day included the participation of different agents from the academic and business sector in a webinar.
The workshop “Breaking Boundaries: Circular Design and Stakeholders Synergy in Construction” sought to explore and promote the circular economy in the construction industry through collaborative activities and group dynamics. Establishing strategies to test and improve product prototypes through a design thinking methodology, opening the possibility of identifying new actors, and how they can interact to contribute to the development of materials and products. Participants recognized the significant impact of building materials on the environment and the importance of the circular economy.

Results

  • Presentation of real case studies in seminar format, which allowed to see the connections and synergies between different actors in the academic and business sector.
  • In the workshop, role dynamics allowed participants to better understand the perspectives and challenges of the different actors in the construction value chain and how each can contribute from their role to provide solutions to the barriers of others.
  • Multiple ideas were generated to optimize the life cycle of materials, from design to recycling.
