Society, Sustainability and Digital Transformation
Society, Sustainability and Digital Transformation (SSTD) is a curricular unit given by NOVA-FCT to all the students registered in the second year of every bachelor in the Faculty. It implies that students question the nature and extent of the relationships between science, technology, in particular digital technology, the environment and society in today’s world and their implications for a sustainable and increasingly computerized future; (ii) catalyze students’ critical reflection on their future professional and citizenship experience; (iii) increase students’ ability to make decisions and adapt in a globalized and uncertain world (iv) cultivate interest and curiosity in the study of environmental and sustainability issues; (v) analyse and question how digital technologies are transforming our daily lives; prepare students to adapt to a future that is highly dependent on digital technology.
