The Group is integrated into the UPM Laser Center, whose main objective is to establish a link between the University and the business sector to promote research, development, and the dissemination of Laser Technology applications.
Based on its experience and connections at both national and international levels, the Group constitutes a pioneering R&D+i unit in advanced manufacturing and material processing technologies for various industrial sectors (aerospace, automotive, capital goods, biomedical, energy, etc.), with a particular focus on micro/nano-fabrication technologies.
From an academic perspective, the Group actively participates in the Master’s Program in Laser Technology and the Doctoral Program in Mechanical Engineering at UPM.
Theoretical modeling, development, and experimental instrumentation of industrial applications of high-power and high-intensity lasers. Development of micro/nano-fabrication processes using lasers. Development of advanced instrumentation techniques for laser-based manufacturing systems and processes.
