The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid will host the first edition of UPM Investiga on March 18 and 19, an unprecedented interactive and singular research showcase in Madrid. The event will take place at the Central de Diseño in Matadero Madrid.
Under the slogan “Come and discover the technology of the future”, UPM Investiga becomes an exhibition in which the UPM displays its full scientific and technological capabilities, showing how—through their work—UPM professors, students, and researchers are helping to shape the future of humanity. The goal is to bring research closer to society in a practical and interactive way, highlighting the real impact of the projects developed at this university.
Discover the technology of the future
The exhibition will feature spaces dedicated to seven major fields of knowledge that reflect UPM’s main research areas: Architecture and Society; Bioeconomy and Environment; Energy and Transport; Space and Security; Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization; Industry of the Future; Health and Wellbeing.
Over the two days, March 18 and 19, visitors at the Central de Diseño in Matadero Madrid will be able to see practical demonstrations such as high-fashion digital recreation, a laser show, AI applied to drones, racing vehicles, and even the next satellite that UPM will launch into space (UPM Sat‑4).
The program also includes round tables, thesis competitions in which doctoral students explain their research in just three minutes, and four short talks by UPM researchers: Alejandro Datas, co‑founder of Thermophoton; Efrén Fernández, recipient of an ERC Consolidator Grant; as well as Rubén Pérez‑Mañanes, oncology surgeon at Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón; and Natalia Latorre, UPM industrial engineer and Director‑General for Energy Transition at Enagás.
All activities will take place in the morning and afternoon on both days.
