Reflections on U Week: Shaping Sustainable Futures in a Changing World

The U Week was an eye-opening experience, guiding us through three sessions focused on understanding the impact of our actions and those of large companies on climate change, food systems, and everyday lifestyles.

Taking part in these discussions gave me a clearer view of how I can make a difference within my field, especially in the context of sustainable materials. I hope that in 10 years I will be contributing to research on sustainable materials for energy applications, making meaningful progress toward innovative solutions in this area. While I am not expecting instant breakthroughs, I believe that each step forward in research has the potential to make a lasting impact. On a personal level, I also want to adopt a simpler lifestyle, focusing on the essentials and reducing my impact within a consumer-driven society.

Many thanks to Professor Ruth Carrasco for guiding us through this inspiring journey.
