I was born in the analogic era. But I’ve always been curious about new technologies and learning basically anything. Reflecting on my personal learning environment was an interesting experience because it showed my capability to adapt. Seeing how I evolved from kindergarten and college, with books and encyclopedias and printed media, to a digital world made me really proud. But it also made me think that I have to keep learning new tools and avoid the pitfalls of old technologies.

Currently, my PLE is well balanced by using popular applications for research, communication and organization. I still find it important to attend classes and seminars and listen to podcasts to keep myself open to new ideas and avoid getting biased. I like to journal as a means of making sense of what I learn, and I also consider Pinterest a nice tool to do so – by choosing pins and creating pannels, I make sense of my likes and dislikes and I learn more about myself.
For my future PLE, I want to improve on key aspects. Regarding research, I want to start using a reference manager, to make the most of the articles and sources I reach and achieve high-quality academic work. For passive learning, I want to experiment with RSS feeds, to discover new worlds and be informed more quickly – currently, I’m always the last one to know about the news! Last but not least, I want to innovate and change the purpose or function of some tools that I already use. For example, I believe that Miro can help me make sense of some ideas and I also want to use videoconferences for active learning and discussions, engaging with other students and professionals to expand my horizons.
