Last June 26, 2025 we held the IES Research Day at the ETSIST at UPM South Campus, an event devoted to present the research activities of the various groups within the IES‑UPM. Its goals included fostering synergies, increasing the visibility of ongoing work, and promoting collaboration opportunities among students, faculty and researchers. The agenda featured:
- An opening session by Prof. Eduardo Lorenzo with a historical review of IES origins and the PV generator on the façade of our headquarters.
- A morning session with presentations by the IES‑UPM research groups leaders on their activity.
- A visit to the research facilities of IES’s PV Systems Group in the South Campus.
- A networking lunch.
- An afternoon session featuring technical presentations by PhD students on their lines of research. The event combined short talks, informational stands, and open discussion sessions, with a strong emphasis on young researchers
The IES Research Day stood out for its effective bridge-building between IES researchers. It provided a strong showcase of IES‑UPM’s work and generated new internal collaboration prospects.
