Seminario de investigación: COMPUTING RESIDUES IN TORIC VARIETIES, por Carlos D’Andrea

El lunes 7 de abril de 2025 a las 12:30 h tendrá lugar el seminario de investigación titulado “Computing residues in toric varieties”, que será impartido por Carlos D’Andrea, catedrático del Departament de Matemàtiques i Informàtica de la Facultat de Matemàtiques i Informàtica de la Universitat de Barcelona. El seminario será presencial, en el aula 0S4 de la E.T.S. de Arquitectura. Os animamos a todos a asistir.

ABSTRACT: Residues in complex manifolds are one of those kind of objects that can be approached analytically, geometrically and algebraically. Their use in computational algebra and algebraic geometry is ubiquitous, they appear naturally in interpolation, duality, and several types of representation problems. In this seminar, we will review their definition and properties focusing in their computational aspects. We will report on recent advances and challenges of the computation of residues in toric varieties.
