First and second year undergraduate students.
The proposed event is an international collaboration of three universities under EELISA Alliance of Universities, İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi (ITU), Universitatea Politehnica din Bucureşti (UPB) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), in promising a fun night of collaborative learning and research for the youth, to foster awareness on the circular economy across Europe.
Participants will be introduced to the basics of the concept of the circular economy, whereas the quiz method will be employed to invite them to actively partake through three theme-based trivia activities that pique their curiosity and interest in the proposed topics. The three mini quizzes involve intro-level questions addressing the three main activities promoted by the circular economy: reduce, reuse and recycle. Each quiz session will be followed by a short semi-structured discussion on the theme accompanied by relevant sources that also hint at the questions asked.
3VIA, as part of the Madrid Science and Innovation Week, is a two-hour event consisting of short informative presentations, quizzes and discussion sessions geared towards first- and second-year university students and their internationality.
The trivia trilogy will conclude with an open discussion on the circular economy, this time open to all participants in the main session.
The EELISA Circular Community organized in November the activity “3VIA: A trivia trilogy to enhance knowledge and awareness on the circular economy” as part of Madrid Science and Innovation Week. 3VIA was jointly undertaken by the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid, the Istanbul Technical University and the Universitatea Politehnica din București, and conceived as an online evening of collaborative learning and research to foster awareness on the circular economy across Europe for the youth.
The event included short informative presentations, quizzes and discussion sessions geared towards first- and second-year university students from diverse countries. Besides a brief presentation of the basics on the concept of the circular economy, and an introduction to the EELISA Alliance, the event consisted of three theme-based trivia involving intro-level questions related to the three main activities promoted by the circular economy: recycle, reuse, and repair. The trivia trilogy was completed with open discussions on circular economy open to all participants in the main session. Up to 64 participants (among them, 44 students) from different universities and countries joined the meeting and formed groups to solve the quizzes.
