This week at Espacio Fundación Telefónica, Susana Muñoz, director of #TEDECO and lead researcher for #RETOMadrID, participated as a speaker in the #DigitalBridges talk. We were fortunate to enjoy an enriching and reflective space with an audience deeply committed to the cause.

Joining Susana in the talk were Oscar Espíritusanto—journalist, researcher, and university professor, founder of periodismociudadano.com and Director of the Department of Educational Innovation and Research at Cibervoluntarios—and Silvia Movellán, Head of Social Action and Volunteering at Fundación Telefónica.

During the conversation, moderated by Mónica de la Fuente, topics such as current challenges to mitigate the #digitaldivide and the need to bring all of society together to make accessibility a priority when creating content and applications were discussed, alongside a review of each speaker’s projects.

In addition to the diverse and personalized actions of Cibervoluntarios and the training programs and corporate volunteering of Fundación Telefónica, Susana highlighted the technological innovation applied in the #RETOMadrID courses and its focus on a single essential goal: that every participant learns at their own pace from scratch, with their tablet as the only requirement.

From yesterday’s program—which is already available on their YouTube channel to watch again or recommend to your circle—we are left above all with the question asked by an attendee at the end: How can we ensure that all these useful, free resources, available to the entire population, actually reach those who need them?
