HyPVCar-CM aims to establish the basis for integrating PV cells into steel and aluminum structures for automotive applications

Integration involves developing hybrid structures composed of multiple layers to meet requirements for aesthetics, durability, encapsulation, electrical insulation, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Current solutions in the automotive industry are insufficient for full integration, highlighting the need to address specific challenges through new developments.

What is the project’s impact on the transport sector?

Integrating solar cells into metal bodywork enables clean energy generation directly on the vehicle, increasing its range, reducing emissions, and contributing to the green transition and the decarbonization of transport.

The project is promoted within the Synergistic call, for frontier research carried out jointly by research groups belonging to the Community of Madrid.
