
Manuel Antonio Robles Jiménez is a researcher in the Department of Structures and Building Physics at the Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSAM) of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). He participates as a contracted researcher in the European project THRIVE, funded by INTERREG SUDOE, which promotes the active management and valorization of hardwood species in southwestern Europe, fostering their use in sustainable, high‑quality products and solutions for construction.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture (ETSAM, 2023) and a Master’s Degree in Architecture (UAH, 2024). He began his research activity within the JAE INTRO (2023) scholarship program of the Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) at the Instituto Eduardo Torroja Ciencias de la Construcción, working on the characterization of photocatalytic construction materials aimed at reducing pollution and mitigating the heat‑island effect in large cities.
As an architect in the private sector, Manuel has collaborated with various studios such as Langarita Navarro, participating in new‑build projects and architectural competitions; Navarro Baldeweg Asociados, on museography projects and publications; and with Francisco Jurado Jiménez, specializing in heritage rehabilitation and historic buildings.
