One of the founding objectives of the UPM microelectronics initiative is to generate a more effective and intense collaboration between the microelectronics industry and the university. At the UPM in general and at μe-UPM in particular, there is a conviction that such connection promotes a constant flow of mutual benefits and significant advances. By establishing strong links with companies, the university can access additional resources, expertise and practical research opportunities that enrich students’ educational experience and expand the scope of academic research. On the other hand, companies benefit by harnessing the experience and creativity of university researchers to address specific business challenges, as well as by accessing emerging talent and innovative solutions that drive growth and competitiveness. This synergistic connection not only strengthens the socioeconomic fabric, but also encourages the transfer of knowledge, stimulates innovation and promotes the development of practical solutions that have a tangible impact on society.

Since the beginning of its activities in the sector, in the 70s of the last century, the UPM has collaborated with the main companies in the country in the field of microelectronics, optoelectronics and semiconductor technology, through national and international research projects, technology transfer processes, or the creation of spin-offs. Below is a list of the main companies with which we have collaborated or continue to work:
