Summer Shool 2017 (MLI) Day 2- Looking through the eyes of a problem solver

Summer Shool 2017 (MLI) Day 2- Looking through the eyes of a problem solver

After the hard landing on Saturday, our group seemed to be fresh and ready to discover the city.
According to the plan, and after the first regular breakfast in group, we had two introductory presentations by professor Li Xiangning and our”ambassador” Claudio Feijoo, to set the proper mood in our minds: Looking the city through the eyes of a problem solver.
After the food for thought (and stomachs) we took the metro and stopped by different Claudio’s Shanghai highlights. If you know Claudio, not the regular ones but the most inspiring.

Along the afternoon we could explore the city and its contrasts, from incredible skycrappers that represent the economic growth of China to depressed neighbourhoods with poor people and limited expectations. All within walking (long) distances.

With that in mind, our students had to comply with their first assignment for the next day: think about an idea to solve problems in cities, but more precise, to addres s human needs.
