UC Berkeley – UPM Symposium on proximity planning

On the 10th of March, UC Berkeley (California, USA) will host the symposium “Proximity planning: A local strategy for global problems, or a global strategy for local problems?. Debating the  experiences of Barcelona and Paris and their applicability elsewhere”. The event will take place from 1pm to 5pm local time.

Organized by Patxi J. Lamíquiz from the DUYOT-UPM and Daniel A. Rodríguez from ITS+DCRP at UC Berkeley, this transoceanic event aims to contribute to the discussion on proximity planning (e.g. the 15-Minute City) as a central strategy to improve urban liveability and resilience. It will focus on the revitalisation of existing cities, detailing innovations from two European cases, Barcelona and Paris, and exploring their applicability to the revitalisation of cities in the Americas.
