On 17 and 18 November, the 1st edition of the Water & Sustainability Hackathon will take place, which we are holding together with the Embassy of Israel at the ETSI Edificación of the UPM. It will be a unique opportunity to seek innovative solutions to the problem of water scarcity that will bring together internationally renowned professionals in the field.

We will start on the 17th with an inspirational day from 9.30 am to 12 noon with presentations by some of the most prestigious Spanish and Israeli scientists in the field:

– NOAM WEISBROD, Director of the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research

– LEONOR RODRÍGUEZ SINOBAS, Professor of Hydraulic Engineering at the UPM and coordinator of the UPMWater Community

– ODED NIR AND ISAAC MEIR, Professors at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and Isaac Meir.

It will be followed by the HACKATHON on 18 November from 9.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., in which participants will work all day on the challenges posed, which they will have to present to a final jury. The main protagonist will be water and we will tackle a specific challenge that will have to do with the management and use of wastewater for its reuse in irrigation.
