LIMIT was founded in the year 2012 and begin the operation in the year 2013 with the first lab equipment, since then more equipment has been added.
LIMIT constitute key support for the scientific research activities in the ETS de Ingeniería y Diseño Industrial (ETSIDI) that offers technical support to research groups in ETSIDI, and researches of other centers, research organizations, companies and individuals.
LIMIT is specialized on research topics in material grading, polymeric materials, new materials for energy and fabrication, adhesive and structural bonds, metrology and others. Also offers support and consulting sevicies for scientific research.
As from January 2023 LIMIT laboratory is part of the catalogue from Servicios Científico Tecnológicos of the Universidad Politécnica de Madird
