Tutoring and opportunities
We are happy to welcome talented individuals to our research group. We invite undergraduates, graduates, and postdocs interested in paleoecology, anthracology and fossil woods, and urban forestry, both from Spain or abroad. We offer strong academic support, continuous research assistance, skill development, and networking opportunities.
Prospective PhD students and postdocs
If you’re interested in pursuing a PhD or postdoc position with us, please send me your CV and a motivating letter explaining your choice of our lab. The funding for a PhD can be competitive due to limited financial support. Selections are based on academic records, prior experiences, recommendations, etc.
What I value most is motivation. Although grades may be required for certain funding opportunities, enthusiasm and critical thinking are, to me, the key elements for successful research. Funding for PhD and postdoc studies typically relies on calls from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, the Spanish government and private foundations. We’ll assist you in your funding search.
Prospective undergraduate and Master’s students
Motivated grade and master’s students are also very welcome in the lab. We usually have a few master’s and undergraduate students doing their thesis with us, and we also accept students for minor introductory projects. We usually offer small research grants to our Master students (of the various UPM programs), but we also supervise projects based on students’ own ideas when they fit in our lab. Feel free to contact me for an interview. I encourage you to connect with current and past lab members for insights.
