Teaching
I teach Botany and Urban Forestry at the School of Forestry, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. I regularly collaborate with the Faculty of Biology, (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) where I worked from 2017 to 2019. I participate on lectures of a Master course in Arboriculture and joint Educational Innovation Projects.
Forest Botany
Grado en Ingeniería Forestal, 6 ECTS
ETSI Montes, Forestal y del Medio Natural
We introduce here the fundations on nomenclature, classification and taxonomy of plant specimens. We focus on the most important trees and shrubs that participate in the landscapes of southwestern Europe: its recognition, distribution, uses and ecology. We combine theoretical courses with practical sessions and fieldwork.
Urban forestry
Máster Universitario en Ingeniería de Montes, 3 ECTS
ETSI Montes, Forestal y del Medio Natural
The dramatic increase of urban populations is generating a linked growing demand on professionals on urban forestry .
Our students of Máster Universitario en Ingeniería de Montes may get the foundatinons needed to work on this topics, but due to the singularities of urban environments, we propose this course to deepen on specific topics of this systems.
Innovative Education Projects
I actively participate in several innovation projects, in partnership with colleagues from the Forestry School and Universidad Complutense de Madrid, all of which are closely aligned with my areas of expertise. These are the projects that have been launched in the last 2022-2023 course:
