The Joint European Degree Label in Engineering (JEDI) is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme to pilot a joint European degree label aimed at recognizing the value of innovative transnational learning experiences and increasing the visibility, attractiveness, and reputation, both in Europe and beyond, of joint programs provided by alliances of European higher education institutions. The objective of JEDI is to develop a prototype label for engineering, technology, science-oriented and European joint degrees in Europe. Such a label would be issued as a complementary certificate to the qualifications obtained by students graduating from joint programs delivered in the context of transnational cooperation between several higher education institutions.

The project is based on the collaboration and discussion between accreditation agencies, students, academia, and diverse stakeholders. To ensure visibility and engage them, JEDI has created three co-labs for the decisive steps of validation and demonstration: Institutional, Innovative Learning Approach and European Added Value.

Thanks to the work of the partners, we have gathered approximately 145 stakeholders from all the partner countries (student representatives, national authorities, third countries, associations, etc.) who will complete the surveys before October 31st in order to draw sufficient conclusions and apply them to existing joint degrees.

Stakeholder participation and collaboration are essential for implementing the label in society and raising awareness of the improvement in higher education. Therefore, based on the conclusions drawn, two focus groups will be launched soon to engage in deeper discussions and debates regarding the elements that make up this pilot project and its integration within the educational system.
