IN4SOC EXPERIENCE

Title:

Inorganic synthesis of Magnesium and Cobalt – based hydroxy-fluorides

Organization:

Institut de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Bordeaux (ICMCB)

Short description:

Magnesium hydroxy fluoride is an original class of heterogeneous catalyst for the valuation of biomass because of the modulation of Lewis basicity, the function of the F/OH atomic ratio. The aim was to access partially hydroxylated Magnesium fluoride by hydrolysis of Magnesium fluoride, prepared by the sol-gel route, at various temperatures and its extension to other inorganic fluorides with the competition of partial oxidation in order to form partially hydroxylated transition metal fluorides or oxyfluorides.
Knowledge areas:

Chemistry and Photonics of Oxides and Fluorides Materials
SDGS:

SDG#7: Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG#13: Climate Action
Competences:

Cross-Cultural interpersonal abilities and Multicultural awareness, ability to learn autonomously, communication skills, and Time management.
About the experience:

My participation in the IN4SOC project instilled a conscious reflection on my social and civic responsibility as a Student. It also further deepened my awareness about the personal and transversal competencies necessary for employability, social inclusion, and navigation of our increasingly complex world.
