The Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering Research Group (RMGE-RG)  is a consolidated group at the UPM. The RMGE-RG initiated its activity in 2006, whose mission is focused on the research and the development of novel approaches in solving problems related to soil mechanics and rock mechanics, geotechnical engineering and other aspects of civil engineering.

The main research lines of RMGE-RG includes:

• Applications of rock mechanics to civil engineering.
• Geotechnical engineering laboratories.
• Photogrammetry and drones.
• Reliability and numerical modeling.
