SecBluRed – A Holistic Approach to Cybersecurity for Industrial IoT

The RTSI group participates in the SecBluRed project financed through NextGenerationEU funds within the Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia within the Misiones program of the CDTI (Center for Technological and Industrial Development), under the Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación.

SecBluRed aims to contribute to increasing the cybersecurity of current Industrial IOT (IIoT) systems to face new threats and, specifically, those derived from the use of quantum computers. To achieve this goal, the project will investigate the use of new post-quantum encryption algorithms, self-sovereign identity mechanisms, blockchain and Artificial Intelligence. The project includes the development of a series of prototypes that incorporate these new technologies, which will be validated in a practical way in two industrial environments.

The SecBluRed project will be carried out through a consortium of companies made up of MTP (leader), Edosoft, amplia))), OpenCanarias, TSK, Schneider Electric. The RSTI research group participates in the project providing support to the Edosoft company in various work packages of the project. The project, started in November 2022, has a duration of 32 months and a total budget of 4,754,933 euros.
