NUTRITIONAL MANAGER FOR EUROPE

OBJECTIVE:

  • PIC Europe – Sant Cugat Spain

JOB DESCRIPTION & RULES:

  • Analyze customer nutrition programs, compare with PIC recommendations and adapt recommendations to improve both performance and cost of production in accordance with regional practices and regulations.
  • Develop monitoring programs for customers to assess consistency and quality of diet formulation, feed manufacturing, feed budget compliance and ingredient acquisition QA/QC programs.
  • Ensure successful implementation of recommendations and troubleshooting via proactive communication and follow-up.
  • Measure and report progress to customers and account teams.
  • Create differentiation for PIC customers through information, tools, and technologies developed by the technical services team.
  • Provide aligned technical training in nutrition supporting the targets of the larger PIC business and technical teams.
  • Aid in developing new or improve existing husbandry practices for pigs in all phases of production.
  • Provide management or oversight of collaborative technical projects as needed.
  • Present recommendations and results to broad industry audiences.
  • Make every effort to see that the company maintains good standards of conduct in dealing with customers, employees and allied industry in matters relating to social, professional and ethical expectations and obligations.
  • Protect and keep all information from customers only for PIC use.
  • Respectfully collaborate with staff nutritionists, consultants and nutrition suppliers in a way that maximizes the value for the customer and increases interaction with other industry participants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Written and verbal proficiency in Spanish preferred and English a requirment
  • Minimum of a Master degree specializing in swine nutrition with at least five (5) years of experience working with modern swine production systems.
  • Swine diet formulation capability and understanding.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team; proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Analytical capabilities to link production data and economics.
  • Capacity to develop relevant recommendations and train the appropriate audiences to improve performance, genetic outcomes and PIC competitive positioning within the industry.
  • Technical writing skills and strong interpersonal communication capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
