Fernando Matia

Fernando Matia is Full Profesor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. His teaching activity covers control, robotics and programming, being author of three textbooks and having supervised tenths of final degree and final master theses. His research is focused on fuzzy control and autonomous robots, having being advisor of nine doctoral theses and author of many articles in indexed journals, book chapters and conference papers. He has edited one book on fuzzy control, has been member of the program committee of several international conferences and is usual reviewer of several journals. Additionally he has participated in many research projects and contracts with companies, and has a national accreditation of thirty research years. Regarding his academic management activities, he has been Deputy Vice-director of Studies, Vice-director of Quality Management, Vice-director of Studies at the High School of Industrial Engineering at UPM, and Director of the Department of Automatic Control, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Industrial Computing.
