Description

The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide public event, which displays the diversity of science and its impact on citizens’ daily lives in fun, inspiring ways.

The EELISA Circular Community organized in September the activity “SPARKS: An international parkour around Circular Economy” as part of the European Researchers’ Night.  SPARKS was jointly undertaken by the Universidad Politécnica of Madrid, the Istanbul Technical University and the Universitatea Politehnica din București.

This event was both an educational and networking opportunity for European university and high school students. The parkour aimed at raising awareness on Circular Economy through the completion of three pedagogical challenges (Puzzle!Earth’s Defenders, and 3R Pictionary). Up to 57 participants (among them, 35 students) joined the event and formed groups to solve the proposed challenges and to use their creativity in order to address sustainability problems with a Circular Economy mindset. At the end of the event, the organizers presented the participants the EELISA Alliance.

The European Researchers’ Night in Madrid was coordinated by Fundación Madri+d, and it has been funded by the European Union within Horizon 2020, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions with grant agreement number 101.036.010.
