Cluster 3 Horizon Europe EU Borders Security: Acting Ahead across Research, Practice, and Policy

In the context of the MEDEA network (Mediterranean practitioners’ network capacity building for effective response to emerging security challenges), we cordially invite you to attend the two-day conference on “EU Borders Security: Acting Ahead across Research, Practice and Policy”, which will take place in Madrid on the 27th and 28th of September 2023 at the premises of ISDEFE.

A guided visit to the CECORVIGMAR, Spanish Guardia Civil Coordination Centre for Maritime Surveillance of Coasts and Borders, is also scheduled to take place in the context of the conference. This conference will entail focus sessions on Hybrid Threats & Border management, Evolving interoperability Challenges, Practitioners’ Key Role in Security Research, and Looking Forward: A common path between Security Policy and Security Research.

This event targets practitioners, academia, policy makers and industry, aiming to bring them together to discuss and highlight some key aspects of the challenges these topics pose, take stock of what has been achieved so far, and sketch out the way ahead. Thus, we strongly believe that your participation, feedback, and engagement in discussions will highly benefit you, while also creating a valuable impact in our efforts in the MEDEA project. It would be a great asset to count on your participation, so we warmly encourage you to participate.
