Cursos tecnológicos en inglés

Se ofrecen 6 cursos de una semana de duración. Cada curso abarca dos temas. Los alumnos pueden elegir el número de cursos que desean.

Cubesats + Nanotech

CubeSat has become an increasingly widespread concept in various types of space missions due to the standardization, the relatively simple design and its low cost, making the space more accessible and making it available to practically anyone.

Introduction to the foundations of nanotechnology, the properties of nanostructures, and the most usual tools for their fabrication and characterization. Also, the development of different nanodevices and nanosystems, especially in the areas of nanoelectronics, nanophotonics and nanobiotechnology.

Cybersecurity + Leadership & Technology

Cybersecurity is about balancing risks and opportunities in the cyberspace, the global interconnection of digital networks. Cybersecurity is designed to protect digital property, personal information, and business transactions from accidents, errors, and deliberate attacks.

This course gives participants the opportunity to introduce leadership concepts. During the first part students will work on a diversity thought stereotypes approach. The second part will be focused on teamwork through dynamic sessions and case study methodology. Finally, a practical session on leading in time of change will be leaded by a renowned leadership expert.

Biomed Tech + Genomics

Biomedical technology deals with innovation in biomedical technologies especially trends in the development of new devices or solutions that solve specific unmet needs.

A key social challenge is to breed crops with improved traits contributing to get a sustainable agriculture (better plants with less demands). Many of these improvements will be based on our ability to understand the DNA (genomics) of many plants and their associated microorganisms and to apply this knowledge, by means of biotechnology tools, to food production.

Connected & Autonomous Driving + Drones

The purpose of this course is to introduce the architecture and main elements that make connected and autonomous driving possible. Furthermore, potential effects are discussed, as well as some real cases and scenarios.

The civil applications of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) (also known as remotely piloted systems (RPAS) or commonly drones) are increasing.. This short course mainly focuses on so-called multirotor drones. The two main challenges at present are endurance dependent on the electrical power supply (i.e. batteries) and autonomy regarding the dynamic, changing environment.

Clean Energy + Future Cities & Technology

Energy production from fossil fuels is the main contributor to the emission of greenhouse gases. Therefore, the shift to clean technologies is urgent in order to limit climate change. Renewable energy sources (solar, wind, biomass,…) will be the core of our energy system, and a number of technological challenges should be addressed to ease the transition.

The purpose of this course is to explore the opportunities that information and communication technologies (ICTs) offer to approach challenges faced by contemporary cities. Students will use conceptual models to visualize urban complexity and foresight tools to assess future impacts of ICTs on cities.

Artificial Intelligence + Big Data

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers some sort of intelligence that allows machines to emulate intelligent behavior or to do things that people most of the times do better. AI technologies have an important impact in our daily activities in business, as individuals, and as a society.

This field is concerned with extracting the value potentially hidden in data to support decision-making processes. Challenges include analysis, capture, data curation, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualization, querying, updating and information privacy.
